Editorial policy
How CredibleNow articles are planned, written, checked and corrected, and what we will and will not publish.
Last updated: September 2026
Purpose
Our job is to give readers accurate, usable information about work. That means being specific, admitting uncertainty where it exists, and never dressing up a guess as a fact.
Accuracy and sources
Factual claims are checked against primary sources wherever one exists: national statistical agencies, labour and employment departments, licensing and certification bodies, court and regulator publications, and peer-reviewed or otherwise reputable published research. When we cite a figure, we name the source in the text. When a figure would be a guess, we describe the direction of the trend in words instead.
We do not invent experts, interviews or quotations. Illustrative scenarios are clearly typical cases, not disguised real people. We do not use stock "a reader told us" anecdotes unless a reader actually did, and then only with their permission.
Independence
We do not accept payment for coverage, do not run sponsored articles presented as editorial, and do not accept free courses, products or travel in exchange for reviews. Display advertising on the site is served by third-party networks and advertisers have no influence over what we publish. If we ever include an affiliate link, it will be labelled on the page.
Tools we use
Like most publishers, we use software in research, drafting and editing, including grammar and readability tools and AI-assisted writing tools. Every article is planned by an editor, edited by a person, checked against sources and approved before publication, and the editorial team is responsible for everything that appears under our name. Software does not decide what we cover or what we say.
Corrections and updates
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Material corrections are noted on the article with the date of the change. Articles about rules that change (employment law, benefit rules, pay transparency requirements and so on) carry an "updated" date when they are reviewed. To report an error, email us via the contact page with the article link and the sentence in question.
What we will not publish
- Content that encourages dishonesty toward employers, such as fabricating qualifications or references.
- Guaranteed outcomes: no article will promise a job, a salary figure or a visa.
- Individual legal, tax, immigration or medical advice.
- Material copied from other publishers. Short quotations with attribution are used where they add something.
Comments and reader contact
We do not currently run public comments. Reader emails are read by the editorial team and are not published without permission.
